What an amazing day January 1st 2016 was. Beautiful beyond measure, I went skiing down ready-made slopes albeit without one natural snowflake, which only worked without both my skiis gliding off into the heavens thanks to my decision to have my skiis ‘serviced’ for the first time in about five years (they don’t call it service anymore??? which just goes to show how long it’s been). I got a grip on things, literally. Of course I prefer natural snow but who’s being choosy, right? Take what you can get.
I’ve been doing a lot of that lately, where wining and dining is concerned, anyway, and with the months before Christmas one thing led to another and well I gained the odd kg or six (well, eight). Aaargh.
then I came across a health guru of some sort or another, at least that’s what I’ll call him for now, and he says quite simply, don’t see it as a pitfall or indeed as a reason to give up.
SIMPLY AS A BREAK.
yep a bReak.
See it as a break and because you managed before the break, namely
to live healthily,
eat normally and not as if EV-E-Ry sing-le day until Christmas was the last day you would EVer ever get a chance to get your hands on a glass of Christmas spirits or a chocolate Santa, I mean what WAs I thinking???,
and enjoy daily bouts of sports whetheR your yoga teacher was away or NOt (and yes, I did catch myself blaMing her ever so slightly)..
YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO IT CAUSE YOU DID IT BEFORE so THEREFORE YOU WILL MANAGE AGAIN
Now that’s an attit-oo-de I can live with. Oh glorious day.
now, here I am and, what with my new-found planning plan and equipped with this amazingly powerful boost of confidence in said planning and practising of said planning since my highly successful -for my standards anyway- planned buffet Christmas party, phew, lots of planning there but you get the jist..
The sun was shining b-e-right on Friday, January first and that has certainly set the tone for me. It’s not about new year’s reSolutions, nor about chewing oveR repeated mistakes. It’s about giving myself a bReak and by doing so being open for what lieS ahead, so I say,
let the inspiRation flood in.
Happy Writing 🙂
